At the heart of daily life in school is a commitment to creative approaches to teaching and learning – we know that children make excellent progress when they are inspired and excited about their learning.
The creative curriculum within our Prep School balances a cross-curricular approach to learning across the Arts and Humanities with a strong focus on developing core understanding in English, Mathematics and Science.
Pupils enjoy a varied and exciting school day with core lessons delivered by their form teacher whilst also benefiting from specialist teachers in Modern Foreign Languages, Physical Education, Computing, Mathematics and Music. Class sizes are small at around 10 pupils and there is a strong focus on ensuring each child is appropriately stretched and makes excellent progress, within a context that encourages deep thinking, engagement and enjoyment.
Every end year our students sit for external assessment by GL assessment to help us identify and diagnose learning needs, measuring and benchmarking learners’ potential. The baseline and diagnostic assessments are adapted to each student’s level, accurately and quickly identifying their abilities in core academic skills.
